What we collect
Volunteer information
Contact information you submit, including name, email, phone number, ZIP code, neighborhood or city, and social media links.
Volunteer interests, availability, contact preferences, notes, email topic preferences, and signup consent.
Volunteer quiz answers, match results, suggested first actions, project choices, task progress, leadership badges, and Room activity.
Messages posted in SaladOS Room chat rooms and one-on-one Room conversations.
How we use it
Organizing and follow-up
We use volunteer information to contact you, match you with realistic volunteer opportunities, invite you to events, coordinate campaign work, and follow up on tasks or projects.
We use quiz answers to recommend a volunteer lane, suggest first actions, and invite you into the private SaladOS Room workspace after the quiz is completed.
We use Room messages to support volunteer coordination, project handoffs, safety, moderation, and campaign operations.
We do not sell volunteer information.
Who can see it
Access and visibility
Campaign admins and authorized helpers may access volunteer records, quiz responses, tasks, Room project activity, and messages when needed for organizing, support, safety, or moderation.
Room chat room messages are visible to volunteers who have access to the private SaladOS Room.
One-on-one Room messages are intended for the two participants, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. Campaign admins may be able to access them for safety, moderation, technical support, legal, or compliance reasons.
Trusted service providers may process data for hosting, database storage, email delivery, app infrastructure, or security. Current tools may include Supabase, Netlify, Resend, and related campaign systems.
Chat norms
Use the Room like an organizing space
Do not post sensitive personal information, private immigration details, medical information, financial details, passwords, or anything you would not want a campaign admin to see.
Do not share screenshots or copy someone else’s messages outside the Room without their permission, unless there is a safety concern.
The campaign may remove messages, disable Room access, or contact someone directly if chat is used for harassment, spam, impersonation, unsafe behavior, or anything that harms volunteers.
Choices
Email, access, and deletion
You can choose which email topics you want during signup. You can also ask the campaign to update your preferences.
You can ask for your volunteer information to be corrected, exported, deactivated, or deleted where practical and legally allowed.
Some records may be retained if needed for campaign operations, security, compliance, backups, or audit history.
If you want your Room access turned off, ask the campaign and your private Room invitation can be disabled.
